NIGHTLIFE
Heraklion’s a lively student town with a very vibrant nightlife. It is recommended that you don’t leave the city without having experienced it at least once. There’s bars, pubs, and nightclubs for all tastes. Here’s our favourite spots:
tita mpriki - Our favourite bar in the centre. Good music and interesting crowd (usually) $
guernica - Old school after bar. Come after 02.00 $ UPDATE: Guernica is closed indefinitely
plastelina - Cool mainstream bar/club in the centre. Not much dancing going on though $$
trito - The ‘classy’ option. Come here for cocktails and cheese plates $$
kagiampi street - The Greek student way. Sit in one of the cafes, order some raki and meze, and experience the greek student life! $
lakouva - The ultra alternative option. Good food and raki $
fix & kafeneio - For a beer/raki in the park $
la brasserie - The only place you’ll really see people dancing. Don’t miss the Latin nights (Thursdays). Gay friendly $
halavro - For a cocktail under the stars $$
stone project - Mainstream bar in the centre. A local favourite $$
mavros katis - Another student favourite. Right next to the hostel. Cool garden $
lakkos - Oldschool style koutouki in the Lakkos neighbourhood. Worth the visit $
miniatoura - cool jazz bar/coffee shop in Agios Minas’ square $$
