Hike through Karteros Gorge which is part of the Ecological Park of Giouchtas.

Enjoy the quiet environment with just the sounds of the birds, the river and the wind.

Climb up to a small church and the ruins of a large place of worship. Stop and take in everything, have some snacks in some peaceful areas. As we climb out of the gorge you might be fortunate to come across a local Shepard with his flock.

We finish the hike at the Scalarea Estate which is part of the historical Boutari Winery family, which has been producing wine across Greece since 1906.

Enjoy a short tour of the vineyard, the wine cellar along with learning about the history of the family and wine production in Greece and on Crete.

Sit down for a relaxing and enjoyable tasting of both red and white wines accompanied by some locally produced cheeses, meats, bread sticks and Dakos (traditional Cretan snack).
